I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this horrifying event must have had on the neighborhood in Marseilles. Imagine waking up to such a tragedy unfolding right next door—it's something that must have deeply affected the entire community. The resilience of the children who survived is nothing short of incredible, and it’s a testament to the strength within them. I remember reading about the neighbors who found the children; I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been for them to rush over and see the aftermath. They truly became heroes in an unimaginable situation, calling the police and ensuring the kids got the help they needed. It makes me wonder how the neighborhood has fared over the years and if any community initiatives have been established in the victims' memory to support others facing domestic violence. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this senseless act of violence.
I've been thinking a lot about the neighbors who found the children and called the police after the tragic incident with Cindy Benson and her family.
