Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Jamie Lee, aka Roc Dukati, and something that's been on my mind is the role that fear might be playing in the silence of witnesses. I've heard how close-knit parts of the music scene can be, but also how intimidating it might feel to come forward in such a high-profile case, especially if people are worried about retaliation. It's baffling to me that with so many people there that night, nobody feels safe enough to speak up.
Has anyone else thought about how this culture of fear might be impacting the investigation? Or have you seen cases where community support or some form of protection was enough to encourage witnesses to break their silence? I just keep thinking about his little boy growing up without answers and how hard that must be for their family. It's a painful reminder of how much more needs to be done to support those willing to speak out.
Hoping for some insights or similar stories that might shed light on why people stay quiet and what can be done to change that.
Stay safe, everyone.
