It's deeply troubling to hear about the violence that erupted during Fazo's memorial service. It was meant to be a moment of remembrance and honoring his life, yet it was marred by another senseless act of violence. My heart goes out to the families who were present that day, especially the young boy who was injured. It’s a stark reminder of the cycle of violence that communities like South Chicago are facing. What really stands out is the glaring lack of security measures, such as surveillance cameras, which might deter such incidents or help in solving these crimes. It's frustrating to see that even a year after Fazo's tragic death, his family and community still grapple with the same dangers. The community deserves better, and so did Fazo. It makes you wonder what more can be done to break this cycle and truly make these neighborhoods safe for everyone.
It's just so incredibly sad what happened to Fazon Robinson and his family. I was reading up on his case today, and my heart goes out to the people who lived in that neighborhood back in 2010. The specific detail that caught my attention was the lack of surveillance cameras in the area where the shooting happened. It's like these areas are just left vulnerable, with no eyes to catch the perpetrators. It's even more upsetting because maybe, just maybe, if there had been cameras, his family might have gotten the justice they deserve.
The community asked for better security, and it feels like their concerns fell on deaf ears. Surveillance might not solve everything, but it could be a real deterrent or at least a tool for evidence. Thinking about those who loved Fazon, and hoping this case won't stay cold forever. I'd love to hear more thoughts on how these neighborhoods can be supported better to prevent tragedies like this in the future.
