I came across a detail about the trial that I found quite unsettling. Nate Johnson’s family had to sit through the proceedings and hear every graphic detail about how he was taken from them. I can’t imagine the pain they must have felt reliving that over and over again, especially knowing this all happened because of another person's reckless choices. It just doesn’t seem right for families to endure such trauma while seeking justice. Although Chatman was ultimately found guilty, no verdict can truly erase the loss Nate’s family and friends experienced. Their strength and resilience throughout must be commended. Has anyone else given thought to how we might be able to support victims' families better during these tough trials?
