I can't stop thinking about Chevonne Brown’s surviving 11-year-old son. What an unthinkable nightmare he endured—losing both his mom and little brother and then becoming a target himself. My heart goes out to him and the rest of his family who are left to navigate such profound trauma. Children should never have to face such violence, especially in what should be the safety of their own home. Hopefully, the support from extended family and the community can help provide some comfort and stability during this incredibly difficult time. It’s crucial to rally around survivors like him to offer as much love and assistance as possible. The justice process for Chevonne and Sterling is important, but equally important is ensuring that her surviving children are cared for and protected in every way.
