I’ve been following the community discussions around Geanni Boyd’s tragic death, and I’m deeply saddened every time I think about the future this young man won’t have. I find myself wondering about the support systems in place for youth like Geanni and the 15-year-old boy involved in this terrible incident. They’re so young, and to think their lives have been so profoundly affected by gang violence is distressing. What kind of community programs or outreach efforts are actively helping kids in similar situations navigate away from such dangerous paths? I'm hopeful there are moves being made to ensure no more families endure such immense loss. My heart goes out to Geanni’s family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. Their strength amid such overwhelming grief is truly inspiring.
