I've been following Justin Sharp's case for a while, and something that I keep thinking about is the impact on his family. Having read about his life and how many relatives he had—nieces, nephews, siblings, and all the aunts and uncles—it makes me wonder how they're coping with such a loss. It's hard enough losing someone you love, but in such a tragic manner? I can't even begin to imagine the pain they must feel every day.
The fact that the justice system doesn’t always seem fair has to add an additional layer of frustration and grief for them. Seeing the sentences given to those charged, knowing they could be out in just a few years, can’t sit well. It must feel like a second blow. I remember reading how Justin loved soccer and skateboarding; I bet his energy and smile are sorely missed by those who knew him. Does anyone here know if there's been any movement to create a positive memorial in his honor, like a soccer tournament or a skateboarding event? Something to keep his spirit alive and remind people about the joy he brought.
