I was just reflecting on how often we overlook the mental health challenges faced by those who are constantly in the public eye and serving our communities. Peter Traczyk dedicated so much of his life to improving the lives of children and strengthening Oak Park's educational system. The pressure and responsibility that come with such positions can be immense, and sometimes we forget that leaders like him might be struggling silently. It's so important that we maintain a dialogue about mental health and provide support for those who devote themselves to serving others. My heart goes out to Peter’s family and the entire Oak Park community during this incredibly tough time. They lost not just a leader, but someone who truly cared.
