Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the community's response to Devon McClyde's tragic death. Seeing over 500 people gather at Temple Square for the vigil was incredibly moving. It’s clear how much Devon was loved and how deeply this loss impacted everyone. I hope that the unity we witnessed at the memorial translates into long-term change within the community. It’s so important that we don't let this call for unity fade with time.
What really resonates with me is the strength shown by Devon's family and friends during such a difficult time. Despite their grief, they participated in organizing events like the cookout and basketball tournament to honor Devin's memory and promote peace. This kind of resilience is inspiring, and I genuinely hope it leads to meaningful dialogue and action to curb violence in Danville.
Has anyone heard of any ongoing community initiatives or discussions that have come out of these events? It would be great to keep supporting these efforts and honor Devon's legacy.

I've read that they held a community cookout and basketball tournament in his honor—I can't help but wonder if these events are helping in healing and bringing some semblance of peace. It's such a strong message that they’re trying to channel their grief into something positive. Has anyone from this forum attended these events? How did they feel attending them, and do they believe these gatherings are making a difference in the fight against violence?
Praying for Devon's family and hoping his story continues to inspire change.
