I’ve been thinking a lot about Denzel D. Thornton’s case, and one thing that really stands out is how it happened in the middle of the day, right near an elementary school. It’s unsettling to think of such violence so close to a place that should be safe for kids and their families. The fact that McNair Elementary went into lockdown afterward shows how serious this was. It must have been terrifying for everyone inside, especially with an eighth-grade graduation scheduled for that day. I can't imagine the fear and anxiety Mrs. Thornton's colleagues, students, and families felt during those moments. It's troubling that the shooter hasn’t been caught yet. Thornton’s family deserves answers, and I hope justice is served soon.
