I've been following the case of Stephan Triplett, and it's tough to shake off how his story resonates with so many similar tragedies in Chicago. Something that caught my attention was the lack of eyewitnesses despite the fact it happened in what seems like a populated area. It's baffling to me how a drive-by shooting can go unnoticed, or maybe it's just the fear that keeps people silent. I can’t help but wonder if there’s more we could do as a community to provide a safe environment for people to come forward without fear of retaliation. Stephan's family has shown immense courage and strength, organizing vigils to keep his memory alive, which is truly inspiring. My heart goes out to them—holding onto hope for justice when you're faced with such uncertainty must be incredibly challenging. I hope more people in the community find the courage to speak up and help bring those responsible to justice.
