I’ve been thinking a lot about Anthony Young and what his family must be going through. It’s so incredibly difficult to comprehend how a vibrant life was cut short on a regular night in November 2016. Savannah Avenue should be a peaceful street, not the site of such a tragedy. What stands out to me in this case is the community’s role. I grew up in Boston, and I know how tight-knit neighborhoods can be. It’s hard to grasp how someone could have information that could help and not come forward. I can only imagine the frustration and pain felt by those who loved Anthony. We all want a safer Mattapan and Dorchester, where people don’t have to live in fear. If anyone reading this has even the smallest piece of information, I urge you to reach out to the authorities. Anthony deserves justice, and his family deserves answers.
