I've been following the story of Orlando Wayne Hunt Jr.'s case, and I can't help but feel for his family and friends who must still be seeking justice. It's so troubling that such violence took place in broad daylight outside a store on Base Line Street. It’s situations like these that remind me how important witness testimonies are. I wonder if the lack of eyewitnesses willing to come forward is due to fear of gang retaliation. It's deeply concerning how these communities live under such fear, which only hinders the pursuit of justice for victims like Orlando. I truly hope that people find the courage to step up and share what they know, not only for his sake but to help curb the violence that has affected so many lives in San Bernardino. If anyone here has ideas on how communities can safely encourage witness cooperation, I'd love to hear them.
