I’ve been following the case of Steven Jackson closely and recently read that his family is hosting a community event in his memory next week in Chicago. It’s meant to bring awareness to the violence in the community and to honor Steven’s life. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for them to navigate the legal systems while still mourning their loss. Organizing something that gives back to the community is such a strong and positive way to cope. I think about how much Steven's presence must be missed by his loved ones and how coming together like this can keep his spirit alive and foster healing. To anyone in or near Chicago, I would encourage you to support this event if you are able to. It seems so important not just for the family, but for communal unity and a shared stance against the violence that disrupts so many lives. Peace and justice for Steven. ?
