I was thinking about Jerry William Austin's case today, and I couldn't help but focus on the importance of community support in solving such tragedies. I mean, this really shows how crucial it is for witnesses to feel safe enough to come forward. From what I've read, it seemed like fear kept a lot of people silent, which is understandable given the circumstances. But it makes me wonder, what could be done in neighborhoods with high crime rates to make people feel more secure about speaking up? Jerry's family deserves answers, and his community deserves a sense of safety. Maybe establishing stronger trust between law enforcement and local communities could be a step in the right direction?
