Does anyone know if there were any significant events or gatherings in Omaha around October 1, 2015, that Merle might have attended? Considering his ties to the Santee Sioux community and his interest in cultural events, it's possible he was in town for something related. It’s maddening to think his disappearance went unreported for so long. I wonder if there were missed opportunities to gather information from people who might have seen him around those days. It seems like such a crucial piece of the puzzle and yet so little info is out there. Any thoughts or leads would be appreciated!
