I've been following Michael Kalla's case for a while now, and the more I read, the more puzzled I am about the last known area he was seen—Kalapana. It's a unique place, rough terrain and all, with lava fields and dense vegetation. Does anyone know if there were any searches focused specifically on those lava zones or areas that are hard to reach? I can only imagine how complicated a search operation would be there. It seems like if he wanted to go off-grid or if something else happened, that setting could complicate things quite a bit. Curious if local folks have any insights or thoughts about the search efforts that took place back in 2015.
I’ve been keeping up with the case of Michael Kalla, and something that sticks out to me is the timeline of events around his last-known whereabouts.
