I’m really concerned about how the search of Mary Smith’s home was conducted by the WESTAF officers. It seems excessive and very traumatizing for the family, especially considering the circumstances. I can’t imagine the added stress and violation they felt when their home—a place that should feel safe—was treated so carelessly. Destroying parts of the house and seizing items that weren’t even on the warrant list just feels so unjust. Plus, the fact that they wouldn’t let anyone in or out, and that they forced Tavaris to change in front of them, seems so unnecessary. I hope they get some answers and accountability soon. It must be incredibly hard for the family to have to continue fighting for justice in Brandon’s name on top of healing from their loss. It really makes me think about how there needs to be more oversight and accountability in these situations. Anyone else have thoughts or understand how something like this could happen in the first place?
