Has anyone else been following the case of Dabryant Walker? I’ve been thinking about how some families, like Dabryant’s, have endured multiple losses in such a short period. It’s absolutely devastating to imagine what they’re going through, having to bury not just one, but four loved ones in the same week. Losing someone to violence is traumatic enough, but this level of loss seems unimaginable. This situation really highlights the urgent need for addressing the underlying issues of gun violence in Ford Heights and places like it. I can’t even begin to understand how communities cope with this kind of constant threat. It makes me wonder what more could be done on a community and systemic level to prevent these tragedies. My heart goes out to Dabryant’s family and friends. It’s crucial that cases like his don't get lost in the shuffle and that the community keeps pushing for answers.
