Has anyone looked into the possibility of surveillance cameras in the area around where Mario Ballard was shot? I know there are a lot of businesses and homes with cameras in neighborhoods like Back of the Yards. Even if the footage didn't capture the actual incident, it might provide more information about the gray car or give some more context before or after the shooting occurred.
These leads can sometimes be tough to track down, but any little bit could potentially help the investigation. It feels like such a long shot, but with so many cameras out there, it could be a matter of asking the right person or business for access. This case has been open for too long, and Mario’s loved ones deserve to see some progress. Keeping the family in my thoughts and hoping for a breakthrough soon.
Hey everyone,
I was going through some old case files and came across Mario Ballard's unsolved murder. One thing that's always puzzled me about cases like these in Chicago is the role surveillance footage might play, or in many instances, the lack thereof. Given that this happened in broad daylight, I can’t help but wonder if there were any businesses nearby with cameras that might have captured footage of the gray car or its direction after the shooting.
Does anyone here know if the area around that neighborhood typically has a lot of surveillance, or if there might have been any initiatives from local businesses to share video with police after incidents like this? I feel that community cooperation with sharing any kind of surveillance could be crucial in cases like this, where eyewitness testimony might be hard to come by.
Sending strength and support to Mario's loved ones. It's so important we keep talking about these cases and pushing for justice.
Thanks for reading, any insight would be really appreciated!
