Is anyone else really curious about the timeline for when Jesse Mills left his house? I was looking into it again and it's puzzling that he chose to head out at 10 PM, right when the weather was far from ideal. It makes me wonder if something specific prompted him to venture out so late. The lack of a float plan is also concerning, considering how experienced kayakers usually prioritize safety. I hope this upcoming search with the scent dog on Kasiana Island brings some clarity to what happened that night. It must be agonizing for Amy right now, but it's heartening to see so many locals willing to help. Does anyone know more about search efforts moving forward?

Has anyone heard about the weather conditions the night Jesse went missing? I'm curious because I read somewhere that it was pretty rough out there with winds up to 25 mph, and considering he left around 10 PM, it must have been really dark. Does anyone have experience kayaking in those conditions? Seems like trying to navigate in the dark with that kind of weather could be tough, especially if you're not familiar with the area. I’m wondering if the conditions alone could have knocked the kayak over, especially for someone who’s only just moved to Sitka a couple of months ago. Seems risky to be out there alone without a float plan. Thoughts?

Has anyone else thought about how quickly Jesse Mills and his wife seemed to integrate into the Sitka community? It’s been only two months since they moved from California, and already the local search teams and volunteers showed up in full force. That speaks volumes about the type of people they must be. Moving to a new place and building that kind of support network is no small feat, especially in such a short time. The compassion and willingness of the locals to help in the search give me a warm impression of Sitka, even amidst such a tough situation. But more than anything, it feels like it reflects on Jesse and Amy as really good people. It's those community bonds that often offer a sliver of hope in these dark times. Thoughts are with the family and friends involved.
