Also, Cornelius's little boy now has to grow up without his father. It's absolutely gut-wrenching.
What stands out to me is how his loved ones are standing firm against the stereotype of this being "gang-related." They’ve painted such a clear picture of who Cornelius really was—a devoted father and a dependable friend. It's unfair how quickly victims can be labeled, especially in areas like Englewood. It’s a reminder for everyone to look beyond the surface and see the person behind the statistics. I hope the investigation advances soon, and Cornelius’s family gets the closure they deserve. Sending strength and support to all those grieving and searching for justice.
Has anyone looked into the surveillance footage from businesses or traffic cameras around South Wentworth Avenue on the night Cornelius was killed? I feel like in such a busy area, there's got to be some recordings that might help piece together what happened or identify the silver sedan involved. It's just so frustrating that we talk about increased surveillance in the city, yet cases like these still seem to lack solid leads. My heart really goes out to Cornelius’s family and his girlfriend, especially with everything she went through being pregnant at the time. I hope the police are actively pursuing every possible avenue because this family deserves some closure.
