I just can't stop thinking about Laura Helton's granddaughter and her son. I can't even begin to imagine what they're going through right now. The emotional scars from something like this run deep, especially for a child who was just starting to navigate the world. Being so young and witnessing the violence firsthand must be unimaginably traumatic, and on top of that, losing a grandmother who she probably adored is just so sad. And then there's Laura's son, who had to face the unimaginable scene of finding his mother like that. The strength it must have taken for him to run after the gunman, even after being injured himself—my heart goes out to him. This is a family that clearly has a lot of healing ahead of them. I hope they find support and some peace in the community around them as they try to rebuild their lives.
