I was reading about Michael Weathers, the 19-year-old who lost his life in Baltimore back in December 2007, and I couldn’t stop thinking how tragic it must be for his family to live without answers for so long. I found myself thinking about the systemic challenges the Baltimore PD was dealing with back then, like limited resources and lack of witness cooperation. It's frustrating to see how these barriers make it so hard to solve cases and prevent such tragedies.
Does anyone have insight into why residents might be hesitant to cooperate with the police? I get the feeling that there's a lot of distrust between them, but I’m struggling to understand how that relationship can be improved. Michael's case, along with many others, remains unsolved, and it really hits you how these issues affect real people and their loved ones. Hoping for a day when families can finally receive the closure they deserve. Let's keep them in our thoughts.
