Sausalito locals and anyone familiar with the Marin Headlands area: Do you remember seeing Bryan McCarthy around June 2016? It seems like a long shot, but even the tiniest detail might help. Think back to any hikes you took around that time, especially if you hit Muir Woods. Someone might remember seeing a tall guy, about 6'1", and a bit underweight at 120 pounds, with brown hair. It's strange how such a heavily-trafficked area didn't turn up more clues or sightings. Has there been any chatter, even rumors, about unusual activities or encounters from that time? Missing person cases like this one tug at the heartstrings, particularly because people vanish in such public places and yet these cases remain mysteries for years. I hope new eyes will see Bryan's details and spark some memories. Please share if you heard anything or have any ideas.

I can't help but wonder if there are any unexplored trails or hidden spots around the Marin Headlands and Muir Woods area. It's such a vast and rugged region — it wouldn't be difficult for someone to unintentionally go off the beaten path and get disoriented. Maybe Bryan was an adventurous sort and wanted to explore an area not covered by the main trails. Does anyone familiar with the area know if there are lesser-known paths or shortcuts he might have taken? It's such a beautiful but potentially perilous place, especially if one isn't fully prepared for a solo trek. Always hoping for some fresh insight into his case.
