Hi everyone, I recently came across the tragic case of Keishanay Bolden, and one aspect that really struck me is the promising future she had ahead of her. As a student at Western Illinois University, Keishanay had dreams of becoming a correctional officer. It's so devastating to think about the potential she had—both for herself and the impact she could have made on her community. Jumping into a career aimed at reshaping lives shows how motivated and compassionate she was. In a world where we need more people dedicated to helping others find a better path, losing someone like Keishanay is a profound loss. It makes you wonder what her contributions could have been, and how many lives she could have touched. To her family and friends, my deepest sympathies. I can't imagine the loss you're feeling right now. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how we can better support young people in pursuing careers that give back, especially in communities affected by violence. Creating safe spaces for them to thrive is so crucial. Stay safe, everyone.
