I've been thinking a lot about Luis Angel Gonzalez's case, and it's just so painful to know that such a bright life was snuffed out so violently. I read that he was a dad, which makes it even harder to process. It breaks my heart for his little one growing up without him and for all the milestones Luis won't be there for. The fact that this happened during a weekend that was already packed with so much violence is just terrifying. I can't imagine how overwhelmed the detectives must be, trying to piece everything together when there’s just so much happening at once. It’s concerning that there haven’t been any arrests yet, but I guess it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack with gun violence being so rampant. It’s frustrating because you can feel how much people want change and safety in their neighborhoods, but it seems like there’s such a struggle to make headway against the tide of crime. I hope that justice eventually comes for Luis and his family, and that whoever is responsible is brought to account. My thoughts go out to his family; they truly deserve peace and closure. If anyone reading this knows something, please consider reaching out to the detectives. Every little bit could help in making sure Luis’s family gets the justice they deserve.
