I’ve been thinking a lot about the challenge of getting witnesses to come forward in cases like Michael Ellerbe’s. I can only imagine how hard it must be for his family, not having answers after all these years. It seems like a vicious cycle—people are scared to speak out, which means more cases go unsolved, and the violence continues. I wish there was a way to build trust between the community and law enforcement to help solve cases like Michael’s. It’s so devastating for the families left behind, not knowing what really happened to their loved ones. Hopefully, someone finds the courage to share what they know and bring a little peace to Michael’s family.
Hello everyone,
I’ve been reading up on Michael Ellerbe's case, and I keep getting drawn back to the issue of witness silence that plagued the investigation. It's so disheartening to think about how fear and mistrust might be holding people back from coming forward. In a place where gun violence feels almost routine, it's understandable but frustrating that many might fear retaliation or have lost faith in the justice system.
I can't help but think about Michael's family. They deserve to know what happened, and it must be so painful knowing that someone out there has the answers. I genuinely hope that over time someone finds the courage or circumstances change enough for them to speak up, not just for Michael’s sake, but to bring some measure of peace to his family.
Does anyone think witness protection programs or community support initiatives in Baltimore could help in cases like this, or is the problem too complex for those to make a real difference?
Thanks for letting me share my thoughts. Sending strength and support to all the families dealing with similar losses.
