Hi everyone, I've been following the case of Gerald Dondle's tragic death and wanted to share something that's been on my mind. It's been so tough coming across the reports of these incidents almost daily. Gerald's life was taken in such a brutal way, and the pain his family must be going through is unimaginable. One part of this case that I find particularly puzzling is the lack of witness testimonies. Surely someone might have seen or heard something on that dreadful night on South Ada Street. Englewood, like many neighborhoods, has its struggles, but it’s full of people who watch out for one another. It makes me wonder about the fear that might hold witnesses back from coming forward. Perhaps they fear retribution or they feel like their voices might not be heard. I think it's important that the community feels supported and safe enough to speak up. Every bit of information, no matter how small, could lead to justice for Gerald and peace for his loved ones. It feels like the stories of those caught up in these senseless acts don’t get the attention and resolution they deserve. It’s disheartening to think that Gerald's story might fade into the list of unsolved cases, but we can’t let that happen. We need to keep talking about him and keep urging anyone with information to come forward. Sending strength and love to his family and everyone who’s been touched by this loss. Stay safe, everyone.
