I’ve been following Bennie Johnson’s case, and something that really struck me is how the community of Rockford came together in the days after his death. It’s clear Bennie was well-loved, and the vigils held in his memory showed just how much he meant to the people in his life. Neighbors, friends, and even strangers came together to pay their respects and support his family during such a difficult time. I can't imagine what they went through knowing that the person responsible was still out there for months before being caught. It's comforting to know that the community rallied around them and helped keep Bennie's memory alive. It’s just a reminder of the importance of supporting each other and standing united against violence.
