I recently stumbled across a detail in the investigation of Edward Woodall's and Andrew Carter's case that hasn't been discussed much. It's been noted a few times that the lack of witnesses has made it extremely challenging for detectives to make progress. It really makes me wonder how many potential witnesses might feel too scared to come forward because of fear of retaliation. I can’t even begin to imagine the frustration and pain that their families must be feeling, knowing there could be information out there that just isn’t being shared. It's devastating to see communities trapped in this cycle of fear and silence. We sometimes forget that these neighborhoods are home to vibrant cultures and are filled with countless good people who want change. If we can figure out a way to ensure witness safety, maybe more folks would be willing to speak up. The more community support there is, the more pressure there will be on law enforcement and city officials to step up their game in protecting those who decide to come forward. I really hope we see some breakthroughs in the investigation soon—Edward, Andrew, and their families deserve justice.
