Does anyone else feel like the memorial vigil for Nevar Bennett was truly moving? I wasn't able to attend, but I heard from several friends who went that it was a beautiful tribute to his life. It's moments like these that remind us how much of an impact one person can have on a community. It’s deeply saddening that such a well-loved figure was taken so unexpectedly. There's a deep sense of grief and frustration among those who knew him. I hope the vigil not only honored his memory but also brought the community together in solidarity, urging anyone who knows something to come forward. In these trying times, community support feels more important than ever. We need to remember Nevar as more than just a statistic or a victim—we need to honor his legacy.

Hey everyone, I've been following Nevar Bennett's case and something that's been on my mind is the place where it happened. East Saint Louis has seen too much of this tragic cycle of violence. It's really important to understand the environment here—and not just for Nevar's case, but for the countless others who've been affected. I wonder if there's more focus needed on community resources and outreach programs that can truly make a difference. Nevar's family, like many others, deserve answers, but they also need support now. It's infuriating to see good lives lost and communities continuing to suffer. Maybe more community-based solutions and preventive measures could help bridge gaps. Sending thoughts and positivity to Nevar’s family and friends. They shouldn't have to fight this fight alone, and as a community, neither should we. Would love to hear thoughts on how folks think effective change can take root here. Has anyone heard of outreach programs that have been successful elsewhere?
