I’ve been following the case of Davarion “Rusty” Marshawn Jones, and one detail that's haunting is the impact on his classmates. I can't even imagine heading back to Kankakee High after such a tragedy. For so many students, school should be a safe place, but the shadow of losing a friend in such a violent way must make it incredibly difficult. I truly feel for those kids trying to find normalcy again. It's a reminder of how violence doesn't just take one life; it affects countless others in the community. I hope the school is providing resources for those grieving and that the community continues to rally around Davarion's family and friends. This loss is profound, and they shouldn't have to face it alone.
