I've been following the case of Dorian McGee and keep thinking about how his murder impacts the young students who knew him at Oak Park and River Forest High School. It just makes me wonder about the emotional toll on his classmates. A young man at the same school was suddenly taken from them, and now they have to navigate through grief while worrying about their own safety. I recently read that there are counselors available, but is that really enough? Are there any efforts being made at the school or in the community to guide these kids through such a traumatic event? None of them should have to live in fear or carry such a heavy burden at such a young age. My heart goes out to Dorian's friends, teachers, and everyone at the school who must be grappling with this loss. If anyone has more info on how the school is supporting the students, I think it would be important to share.
