I keep thinking about the location where this happened—right near Funston Elementary School, a place that's supposed to be safe for kids and families. It just breaks my heart to think that gun violence is getting so close to places where our children learn and play. I imagine parents in the neighborhood are terrified and struggling to feel secure when dropping their kids off at school now. Every life lost is a tragedy, but when these incidents happen near places meant for growth and learning, it feels like an attack on the community's future. I hope that the police can find those responsible, not just for Tyshon's sake, but also to restore some peace to the families living in fear. My thoughts are with Tyshon's family and everyone in Logan Square dealing with this violence.
