Has anyone else been struck by how active Robin was in her community? I was looking through some old discussions in this forum and noticed how often people talked about her dedication to the Motor Mart and the Bunko Club. It seems like everybody in Collinsville knew her—or knew of her. It’s just so deeply sad that someone who was such an integral part of the fabric of her community had her life taken in such a horrific way.
Also, thinking about how Robin's daily life was wrapped up in activities so many of us can relate to—like her love for puzzles and reading—it's a stark reminder of how fragile life can be. It’s reassuring to see her friends and family come together to keep her memory alive, though, and I hope they find some comfort in the outpouring of love and support from the community.
Does anyone else have any stories or memories of Robin that they’d be willing to share here? I feel like, with cases like this, it’s important to keep the discussion about the person, not just the crime.
I've been thinking about the relationship between Robin and Brittin, especially since they shared an address. It's unsettling to imagine someone you're living with could harbor such violence. Does anyone know if there were any signs of trouble or conflict between them leading up to November 11th? It makes me wonder if the system could have provided more protection or intervention. My heart goes out to Robin's family and friends; living with such a loss must be incredibly difficult. I hope they find comfort in the memories of her kindness and joy.
It's honestly so chilling to think about how someone with such a violent history was in Robin's life. I've lived in small towns, and it's usually a place where you feel safe, knowing your neighbors and all. From what I've read, it feels like the system really failed in keeping Brittin from causing more harm.
Robin was clearly loved and respected in her community, especially being a part of the Bunko Club and working at Motor Mart for so many years. It's just unimaginable how this happened to her. Such a sweet, social person should have been protected better.
The justice system did take steps by giving Brittin a hefty sentence, but it makes you wonder how many red flags were missed along the way. Keeping Robin and her family in my thoughts. She deserved so much better.
