It's incredibly sad to think about Mr. Beltran's family and the community that valued him so much. I was just reading about the incident and can't stop thinking about how fearless these criminals must have been to do something so horrific in such a busy area near Wrigley Field. With so many people and businesses in that neighborhood, it's shocking that no one's been caught yet.
I wonder why the surveillance cameras and private security weren't enough deterrents or if there were any failures in monitoring. It's unsettling to think that despite all the technology and resources, these suspects could still be out there. My heart goes out to Mr. Beltran’s widow and daughters who are left to pick up the pieces. It makes you wonder what more can be done to prevent another family from going through such grief. Community support and increased vigilance could be crucial right now.
I've been following the heartbreaking case of Hermilo Beltran, and my thoughts continuously go out to his family and friends during this unimaginable time. It's deeply concerning to see that despite all the surveillance cameras in the area, the suspects have still not been caught. It makes you wonder how safe any of us truly is in highly populated areas like Wrigleyville.
One thing that stands out is the vehicle—a silver Mercedes sedan—that was seen leaving the scene. It seems like such a significant lead, yet no arrests have been made. Could it be that this wasn't the first time the car was involved in criminal activities? If so, why hasn't it been flagged earlier?
I also think about the changes in local policing and how the decrease in officers might be impacting the speed and effectiveness of investigations like this one. It's essential that community leaders heed Alderman Tunney's calls for additional resources. Hermilo Beltran's family deserves justice, and the neighborhood deserves reassurance that they're safe.
