I was thinking about the location of the shooting itself and how it might play into this case. East Garfield Park has seen its fair share of violence, but being shot in a parking lot in broad daylight is incredibly bold. It makes me wonder if the shooter knew Corey or if it was a random act. The fact that it happened around 10:40 a.m. suggests there could have been witnesses, maybe people either going to work or nearby residents. It’s just so hard to believe that nobody has come forward with more information yet, even though the police have been asking for help. My heart goes out to Corey’s family, who must be living a nightmare trying to make sense of why Corey was targeted this way. I hope the community continues to speak up and provide any little bit of information that could lead to solving this. Every detail could be the missing piece of the puzzle that the detectives desperately need.
