Has anyone else been following the vigil that was held for Mercedes Tavares and the other victims? I read that the community came together to honor their memories at the site of the shooting on West School Street. It’s touching to see so many people paying their respects and standing in solidarity with the families affected. I can't imagine the pain her family is going through, especially her young children who now have to grow up without their mother. The show of support from neighbors and friends is a reminder of the strength and resilience of the community, even in the face of such horrific violence. Mercedes deserved to be surrounded by love and positivity, and I hope her family can feel that during this unimaginably difficult time. If anyone attended the vigil, it would be great to hear more about how the community is helping each other through this.
