Does anyone remember Eric Cromwell's case from 2009? I was just reading about the increase in violence in Baltimore back then, and his story really stuck with me. It's hard not to feel the weight of what his family and friends must have gone through. Being just 19, he had his whole life ahead of him. It's so frustrating that this senseless violence was, and still is, taking so many young lives. I really wonder about the impact on communities and how they cope with such losses repeatedly. The silence from witnesses due to fear or distrust only makes it harder to break the cycle. I think community support and trust in law enforcement need a big boost to make neighborhoods safer. If anyone has insights into how people try to foster this trust or ways they’ve seen helpful in other cases, I'd be eager to hear. It might bring some comfort to the families involved if they know their loved ones' stories are out there and still remembered.
