I've been thinking a lot about the impact that certain locations can have on criminal investigations. Larry James Staton's case is such a tragic reminder of this. Leakin Park has such a notorious reputation, and it must be incredibly frustrating for investigators to deal with the limitations that come with a crime scene like that. The park's secluded nature and its history make it a place where clues can easily get lost or overlooked. I can't help but wonder why more hasn't been done to increase surveillance or monitor activity in these high-crime areas. It's devastating to think that the setting might be a contributing factor to why Larry's killer hasn't been found. My thoughts are with his family and friends who deserve some answers and closure.
