I've been following Peter Harrington's case for a while, and something that's always puzzled me is the timing of his disappearance. October 1, 1983, seemed like just another normal day from what I've read. Does anyone know if there were any local events or significant happenings in Redwood Valley around that time? It might be a long shot, but maybe something unusual was going on that could have contributed to the circumstances of his disappearance. Any locals or history buffs out there who might have insight into the area during the early '80s? Just trying to piece together anything that might help understand what led to this 40-year-old mystery.

Has anyone seen the recent thread on Peter Harrington's case? I've been diving deep into it, and something curious caught my eye. Has there ever been any mention or evidence of a hitchhiking habit? Given the time period and location, I wonder if this could have been a factor in his disappearance. I know hitchhiking was more common back in the early '80s, especially in places like California. Maybe he got a ride with someone who wasn’t trustworthy? It's just a theory, but it might explain the lack of leads or information. I’d love to hear if anyone else has thoughts or info on this angle.
