Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Jacqueline Freeman, and something that's sticking with me is the impact on her family. Losing someone in such a violent way is unimaginable, and I genuinely feel for her loved ones who had to endure that pain. It's also insane how Bo Tharpe completely ignored the law, a court order at that, with no regard for anyone but himself. That morning must have been terrifying beyond words for Jacqueline and her sister. I can't imagine how her family feels, especially knowing that some people involved in the case held such overtly racist views. It's unsettling that a juror could openly express such disgusting bias and yet the legal system struggled to adequately address it. It just makes me think, how often does this happen where prejudice taints a process that's supposed to be fair and just? Her family deserved better, not only from Tharpe but also from the justice system that was supposed to stand up for Jacqueline. Sending love and strength to them, wherever they are. :(
