I'm thinking a lot about Leonard Gee's case and the tragic circumstances surrounding his death. It's disheartening to hear how violence seems to overshadow the beauty and potential in Baltimore. I was really struck by how Leonard was remembered by his family—as a caring and loving person. It’s a harsh reminder that behind every statistic, there's a story and a life that touched many others. One issue that really seems to be a recurring roadblock in these investigations is the challenge of getting the community to work with law enforcement. It must be incredibly tough for those who loved Leonard to know that his killer might never be held accountable. The lack of trust in the police due to past grievances is understandable, but the cycle of silence only helps perpetuate this violence. It would be incredible if we could find a way to bridge this gap so that families like Leonard's could see justice served and perhaps find some solace in that. My heart goes out to his family and friends as they navigate this enormous loss, especially knowing that answers may never come. Hoping for peace and change in Baltimore, for Leonard and everyone who calls the city home.
