Hey fellow sleuths,
I've been following the tragic case of Takeenan Williams, and something that's been nagging at me is the issue surrounding the involvement (or lack thereof) of expert witnesses in the trial. Specifically, the defense for Patricko Davis argued that not calling a bullet-trajectory expert was a misstep. I've read that experts can make a big difference in cases where self-defense is claimed. Could a trajectory analysis have brought new insights that the jury didn't consider? I can't imagine how hard it must be for Takeenan's family to relive all of this during the trial, and I really feel for them. It's just heartbreaking to see justice be so complicated sometimes. What do you all think? Would welcoming such testimony have changed anything, or was the court's decision sound? Love to hear your thoughts.
