Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic story of Dorian Jenkins, and while so much focus is on Presley’s arrest, I wanted to discuss something a bit different: the community response at the time. It seems like after Jenkins and Mims were killed, there was an outpouring of support for Atlanta’s homeless population. Several local charities and community groups really stepped up efforts to provide more shelter and resources. From what I've read, there were even vigils held in honor of Jenkins and others, serving as a poignant reminder of the lives taken far too soon. I find it both heartbreaking and hopeful that in these dark times, people came together to try and prevent further tragedies. It made me wonder if any of you have heard of similar community initiatives elsewhere when faced with such dire situations? Sending love to all those affected by this case. ?

Did anyone else find it chilling that Presley called his revolver the “cowboy gun”? It’s eerie to think he might have had this distorted fantasy playing in his mind as he targeted these vulnerable people. The idea that he saw himself as some twisted vigilante is terrifying. It’s crucial that we remember Dorian Jenkins and the others whose lives were senselessly taken, and that we continue to question the systems that allow people to fall through the cracks and end up on the streets. My heart goes out to their families, who must grapple with the aftermath of such senseless violence. These are discussions we need to keep having—not just about justice for Dorian and the other victims, but about how we can prevent this from happening again.
