I can't stop thinking about Ernest Joe Manzanares's Monte Carlo. Does anyone else find it odd that there hasn't been any trace of it all these years? A bright red and primer-gray 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo isn't exactly subtle. You’d think someone might have noticed it at some point. I mean, it's a pretty distinctive car, and cars like that don’t just disappear into thin air. I wonder if it was possibly repainted or dismantled soon after Ernest went missing. Has anyone heard if there were any junkyards or auto shops in the area back in '88 that were investigated? It seems like checking places where a car might be hidden or altered would have been one of the first avenues explored, but it's been so long, and details sometimes get lost over the years. If anyone has connections in the classic car community or knows of enthusiasts in the Florida area from that time, maybe a new lead could surface.
