Did anyone else hear about the heartful vigil that Leevon's family organized shortly after his passing? It was held right near where the incident occurred on Swift and Main streets. So many people came out to pay their respects and honor his memory. Friends, family, and community members spoke about how much Leevon meant to them. It was truly moving to see everyone come together in solidarity. Events like these are so crucial because they remind us of the human side of these tragedies and the lives that are profoundly affected. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him. It's a painful reminder that we need to support each other more and work on creating safer communities. If anyone attended or has any photos, it would be good to see more positive memories of Leevon shared here. ❤️
I can't stop thinking about Leevon's situation and how it reflects a larger issue with youth violence these days. When I read about his encounter with those teenagers, it made me realize just how critical it is for communities to address the root causes of this behavior. It's heartbreaking to see such young people involved in such serious crimes, and even more devastating for Leevon's family who has to live with this loss every day.
It seems like a lot of attention is being given to catching Torrence Chaney, the last suspect, and rightly so. I hope he's found soon and brought to justice, not just for Leevon's sake, but also to hopefully set an example that this kind of violence won't stand in our communities. I've been thinking about what more we can do as a community to support each other and to prevent our youth from heading down such tragic paths. If anyone has thoughts or initiatives on how we might better support our young people to keep them away from crime, it would be great to discuss them here.
