I've been following the case of Prince Leonard Varner, and I can't stop thinking about the footage from the bar's surveillance system that came up in court. It’s haunting to imagine his final moments being captured like that. I really feel for Varner's family having to endure watching such footage during the trial. I can’t imagine how painful that must have been for them, especially his sister, Councilwoman Kamali Varner, who had to sit there through it all. It's a stark reminder of the horrifying reality of gun violence, something that hits different when you see it, rather than just hear about it. I hope this case can spark more discussions around community safety and preventative measures.
