Did anyone else hear about the flyer campaign Melvin Delong's family organized back in '93? I was young, but I remember seeing those posters around Parkersburg when visiting relatives. It seemed like everyone I talked to at the time was aware of his case because of how active his family and friends were. It's just such a strong testament to how much he was loved in the community. They were relentless, getting local media involved and spreading the word as widely as they could. It's been years, and I still think about how that town pulled together for him. Makes you wonder if someone out there knows something but has never come forward. Anyone have any thoughts?
Has anyone come across the community events organized by Melvin Delong's family over the years? I attended one of the vigils back in the early 2000s, and I remember the turnout being really impressive. It was clear how loved and missed he was. They focused on celebrating his life while keeping the search for answers active. I'm curious if these events have continued to be a way for the family to gather support or if they've shifted their efforts elsewhere. Any updates from locals in Parkersburg about ongoing community involvement would be appreciated!
